Investigation of the pin-roller metering device and tube effect for wheat seeds and granular fertilizers based on DEM

The metering device is the central part of seeder discharging granular fertilizers or seeds from hopper to colter passing through tube. Depending on design, batches particles are discharged evenly. This research analyzes existing devices, and a new pin-roller recommended discharge evenly high doses wheat at low rotation speeds. objective was adapt precision agriculture so that little electric motor containing gearbox drives every device. Therefore, parameters were investigated apply optimal pin positions determined according response surface methods (RSM) by simulating seeds' behavior DEM. coefficient variation (CV) slip rate (SR) between pins chosen as indicators for evaluating pin-roller. shape specified, then number lines, in line, height optimize. analysis simulation results shows parameters: line four, lines sixteen. SR 8% 2%, respectively. compared with six-grooved twelve-grooved devices. comparison show distributes twice more uniformly than other CV fertilizer distribution six-grooved, twelve-grooved, devices 111.13%, 80.74%, 37%, seed 96%, As long interact tube, leaving device, effect tube type position investigated. result, it has minimal while positively impacting improving particle into soil.
